Dr. Kim is a highly skilled and compassionate surgeon who is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This process of Board Certification is voluntarily taken on by the surgeon to undergo an intense process of  evaluation and testing in order to ensure that they meet and exceed the standards of judgement, intelligence and surgical skills. Dr. Kim has been practicing for over 20 years and is a proud graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry. He did his surgical training in the Washington D.C. area and is thrilled to be back home practicing what he loves and giving back to his local community after serving a distinguished 11 year career as an officer and a surgeon in the U.S. Army.

What is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon?

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires 4-6 additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school.   During their intense surgical residency, they receive training in General surgery, Plastic Surgery, Facial Trauma and reconstructive surgery, Pathology and Reconstruction, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, ICU/MCU training, and extensive General Anesthesia training. Dr. Kim practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and specializes in:

– Jaw surgery to correct underbites/overbites/asymmetry

– Placement of Dental implants ranging from straight forward cases to the more advanced cases requiring bone harvesting and grafting procedures or Sinus lift procedures.

– Extraction of impacted wisdom teeth

– Facial Trauma Surgery

– Facial cosmetic surgery

– Botox and Dermal fillers

– IV Sedation and General Anesthesia to ensure optimal comfort and safety.
